Ice Cream Shop Losing Towing Revenue

Mary Coyle

Local business owner Michael Trecaso longs for the old days.  Just a short few years ago nearly 40% of his annual revenues came from the towing component of his ice cream business.  Today motorists have found the Market Path parking lot to be free, safer and less graveled.  In another example of big business putting the choke-hold on Mom & Pop establishments Trecaso has had to find ways to recoup this loss.  “I had to reduce, by hand, the number of tracks in my Moose Tracks flavor.  Can you imagine?  The White House Cherry doesn’t even live up to it’s epithet…I’ve considered renaming it Hower House Cherry!”

Despite a $95 Photoshopped [pictured] renovation to the lot visitors of the Highland Square area still prefer the real, paved and tow-free Market Path lot.
